BRIEF PROFILE OF SELF

Mrs. D. BALA JOY DADY, B. Sc; M. Ed; MPES; M. Phil; PGDSM. CPPDPT.

PRT, KV, MINAMBAKKAM- .CHENNAI

I joined in KVS in the year 1995, September 25th as PRT. Now-a –days it is heard that the teacher faces many problems and denies taking the load of class teacher ship which he /she accepts it a job of burden. But of the teacher really plan nicely and use the latest technology in his/her class then the teacher’s work may be interesting and enjoyable.

A creative and an innovative teacher makes the class a different one. The greatest motivator in the class is the teacher. The teacher is an example of purity, simplicity and gentleness. In today’s busy world the parents cannot give much time to their children. That is why the children always wait for guidance from someone who is very loving and understand them. That makes relationship of the teacher and children.

The teacher can make more things in a class to make the class different one in the school if she thinks creatively. The challenge to current educational system for the feature is to prepare learners to participate in a knowledge society.

In order to develop communicative competence in a primary school new methods and forms of teaching should always be under consideration. Development of technology and new computer based learning, making them think about possible application of ICT in all the subjects. If properly taught and used information and communication technology (ICT) could be an important role as tools for the general re-structuring of learning process.

I taught the entire lesson through songs and dramatization method in all the subjects using latest digital video technology. The dramatization is a method of learning that is based on active participation, co-operation and democratic discussion of a practical situation. Most of the children like to act in front of the camera.

I recorded all their dramatization activities through digital video camera which they dramatized in front of the principal in the class room with their full costumes in. The activities recorded were edited using window movie maker technology and the same activities were shown to the children in the audio visual room. Children enjoyed their own activities and came forward to participate in all the activities and got interest in the, subjects. Also all their activities were uploaded in the You tube after converting by Any Video converter- Software and gave the link with my blog and asked all the parents, students and colleagues to view and enjoy it.

In this way I enhanced ICT knowledge and skills in the classroom. Using this ICT I made learning much more fun instead of usual boring classes. I made the class more interesting by involving all the children in the class. I used the digital video camera as a part of everyday classroom activity. It increases the motivation to learn, engagement in learning and their independence in learning. As a result, technology has become more integrated into the classroom teaching. Students have expressed that they want to use technology and expect it to be part of learning.
